about

Sean Quinn’s (Ed Reavy)/ The Beeswing (James Hill)
Artists: Emilie Carroll, Nora Carroll, Jeanne Freeman, Neil Pearlman, Dr. Ryan Ford
Jeanne Freeman taught us these fun hornpipes, and Nora played the first one at one of her first Fleadh Cheoil competitions. Sean Quinn’s is by Ed Reavy, and James Hill’s Beeswing is an old Scottish hornpipe named after an English racehorse. The tune seems to attract bees; we have had three encounters with bees at gigs when we play this tune!
